Found in Barrea at 1100 meters above sea level in the heart of Abruzzo’s National Park you can find access to suggested paths and the overlook onto the Sangro river. The structure is developed on terraces of nearly 20,000 square meters and offers 60 camping pitches. Acacias, maples and beeches, a beautiful overlook onto the valley of the Barrea river, a place to dream. It’s not by chance that Barrea is known for the hospitality of its people. Barrea is an “Comune ospitale“.

The Genziana campsites offer all the comforts you need to have a great vacation in nature.

Enjoy a cold drink in our bar, have lunch and dinner with barbecues on our barbecue and relax chatting with other people in the cozy meeting room.

If you have a bicycle, we offer services suitable for you, such as a safe deposit, a small workshop cycle and more.

Nature

Bears, foxes, chamois, wolves, deer and eagles wander our mountains. Intensely colored flowers fill our meadows, there are over 42 species of orchids to admire. Pasetta, the founder of the campsite, son of shepherds and grandson of the last wolf hunter in the area, took his 50 years of experience of mountain life will guide you through the best paths that Abruzzo’s National Park has to offer (K3, K4, k6 and others) as well as the magical sites in Abruzzo (Gran Sasso, Majella, Monte Sirente, Velino).

Sports

Swimming, windsurf and boating are a few of the many activities that Genziana camping offers. You can also go trekking along the paths of Abbruzzo’s National Park,  including the longest path in Europe, the “Sentiero Italia”. On top of these activities, you can go mountain biking or horseback riding  through the hills of the park. On sunny days you may want to head to the beach that is easily reachable from the campsite and when the cool sets in, in the evening and at night you can explore the city streets and all they have to offer.

Our campsite features a perfectly strategic position, near Tyrrhenian and Adriatic seas, two hours away from cities like L’Aquila, Pescara, Napoli, Caserta, Tivoli and Montecassino.
